USB-C to HDMI, Apple Adapters and You: A Buyer-Friendly Explainer
Which cable or adapter your device actually needs before it can drive the 6360P.
The 6360P speaks one language: HDMI. Everything else is translation. If your device has a full-size HDMI port — laptops, Switch docks, Blu-ray players, Roku, Apple TV — you are already done: one cable, plug in.
USB-C devices are where confusion starts. A USB-C port only outputs video if it supports DisplayPort Alt Mode (Thunderbolt does too). Many Android phones and handhelds like the Steam Deck qualify; some budget phones do not, and no adapter can fix that. Check your device specs for "video output" before buying.
iPhone and iPad need a Lightning-to-HDMI or USB-C-to-HDMI adapter. The 6360P manual specifically calls for an original Apple adapter — third-party clones are a common source of handshake failures, and this is one place where the genuine part earns its price.
Rule of thumb: HDMI source → cable only. USB-C source → USB-C to HDMI converter. Apple phone → Apple adapter. When in doubt, the Compatibility page lists every supported path.
